10th Feb. The Other Subjects

「The Other Subjects」

２月１０日　他の教科だぞ

↑Of course, I’m teaching not only drawing and manual arts and P.E. but all of the subjects, because I’m a primary school teacher in Japan. This is my arithmetic class. I asked my students what animal they like, and taught them how to draw a bar graph. 9 of them choose YAMANEKO as their favorite.

　もちろん、図工と体育だけではなく、全ての科目を教えています。何故ならTorojiro先生は日本の小学校の先生だからです（大丈夫だとは思いますが、毎日なわとびやって、山ネコを作っているだけでは・・・と勘違いされてはいけないので）。これは算数の授業です。子ども達に好きな動物を聞き、どうやって棒グラフを描くか教えました。９人の子ども達が好きな動物に山ネコを選びました。

　夕食に特製麻婆豆腐を作りました。美味しかったです。

２月９日　参観準備だぞ

↑Recently, we are preparing for our presentation. Each students show their activities, which they learned this school year, to their parents. This is the first rehearsal.

　最近、発表の練習をしています。子ども達は今年習った活動をそれぞれ家の人に見せます。１回目のリハーサルです。

↑By the way, the flu is raging in Azumino-city now. Though my class has no flu, we have to wear a mask.

　ところで今、安曇野市ではインフルエンザが流行しています。うちのクラスではインフルエンザはいませんが皆マスクをつけなければなりません。

8th Feb. New Recipe

「New Recipe」

２月８日　新しいレシピだぞ

↑I made cream pasta, from scratch, for the first time. I used mushroom, soybean milk, bacon, cream cheese and so on.

　材料からクリームパスタを作りました。初めてです。きのこ、豆乳、ベーコン、クリームチーズなどを使いました。

↑It tasted very good, ifo ‘aupito ‘aupito. Next time, I’ll add my favorite ingredient, garlic, to it.

　めちゃくちゃ美味しかったです。次回は好物ニンニクを入れようと思います。

6th Feb. YAMANEKO dolls have been displayed.

「YAMANEKO dolls have been displayed.」

２月６日　山ネコが飾られたぞ

↑By accident, these YAMANEKO dolls have been displayed at a public hall. My school’s students must watch it, because the hall contains public library, meeting rooms, gymnastic and so on. A lot of residents of my village will come here. YAMANEKO will be more popular.

　たまたま山ネコ達が公民館に飾られることになりました。我が校の子ども達がそれを目にすることは間違いありません。何故ならこの公民館は図書館や体育館、会議室を備えていて、たくさんの住民がここへ来るからです。山ネコはさらに人気者になります。

↑The ceramic YAMANEKO, kindergarten teacher YAMANEKO, Abacus YAMANEKO, dentist YAMANEKO and African drum YAMANEKO are here. It will continue until the end of this month so please come to the public hall and watch my special edition YAMANEKOs.

　陶器の山ネコ、幼稚園の先生山ネコ、そろばん山ネコ、歯医者さん山ネコ、アフリカの太鼓（ジャンベ）山ネコがここにいます。今月の終わりまで展示されているので、特別バージョン山ネコ達を見に来てください。

5th Feb. Fine Weather

「Fine Weather」

２月５日　良い天気だぞ

↑It was fine today. From the north peak, we can see Aokiko lake.

　今日は良い天気でした。北の頂上から青木湖が見えます。

↑From the south peak, we can see Kashimayarigatake mountain. I practiced a lot especially speed training. Next week, I am going to Asama 2000 snow field for the night. My condition is very good now.

　南の頂上から鹿島槍ヶ岳が見えます。特にスピードトレーニングをたくさんしました。来週は泊まりでアサマ２０００スキー場へ行きます。コンディションはとても良い感じです。

4th Feb. KTC (Komagane volunteer Training Center)

「KTC (Komagane volunteer Training Center)」

２月４日　KTCだぞ

↑I visited KTC (Komagane volunteer Training Center) to give a lecture for volunteers who will go to Tonga next month. It takes me only 1 hour to get there. Because I got there earlier, I had lunch at Bell Shine, where I visited often when I was taking a volunteer training.

　来月トンガへ向かうボランティアへ講義をする為にKTC（駒ヶ根ボランティア・トレーニング・センター）へ行きました。KTCまでは１時間で着きます。早く着いたので、自分がトレーニングを受けている時よく行ったベルシャインで昼食を取りました。

↑When I was in KTC, we welcomed an instructor who came back from Tonga. Today was my turn. As possible I can, I’d like to tell my experience to the new volunteers from now on.

　KTCにいた時、トンガから帰って来たボランティアをお迎えしました。今日は自分の番です。これから可能な限り新しいボランティア達に自分の経験を伝えていきたいと思います。

↑They are the volunteer who are going to Tonga. Shouta (on the left) is a replacement of Hirono, and Daisuke (on the right) is a successor of Shunsuke.

　彼らが新隊員さん達です。左のShoutaさんはHironoさんの後任、右のDaisukeさんはYari君の後任です。

↑I gave No.349 an abacus edition YAMANEKO to Shouta and No.350 YAMANEKO to Daisuke. I was supposed to give out to No.350 in Tonga, but I couldn’t. Although I couldn’t achieve my goal while I was in Tonga, my goal (No.350 YAMANEKO) will go to Tonga with the new volunteers. I’m very happy. I hope you have good luck in Tonga!

　山ネコNo.３４９そろばんバージョンをShoutaさんに、No.３５０をDaisukeさんにあげました。トンガでNo.３５０まで配る予定でしたが、できませんでした。トンガにいる間には目標達成できませんでしたが、目標だったNo.３５０山ネコが、新隊員さん達と一緒にトンガへ出かけます。いってらっしゃい。あなた達のトンガでの健闘を祈ります。

↑When I started my lecture about an abacus teaching method, I saw this abacus case. Oh I remembered that I made it when I was in KTC. I looked back upon my KTC life.

　そろばん指導法の講義を始めた時、このそろばんケースを見つけました。おぉ思い出した！KTCにいた時、生活技法講座でそろばんケースを作ったのでした。なつかしいな～。

↑After KTC, I visited Inagaki, original sauce cutlet restaurant. Komagane is famous for sauce cutlet. It was delicious.

　KTCの後にいな垣というソースかつ丼の店へ行きました。駒ヶ根はソースかつ丼で有名です。おいしかったです。

By the way, it was the first Saturday that I didn’t go skiing this year. Oh man…but it can’t be helped; we had a very good time in KTC instead.

　ところで、今日は今年初めてスキーに行かなかった土曜日ですが、仕方ありませんね。代わりにKTCで楽しい時間が過ごせました。

２月３日　節分だぞ

↑This day, Japanese people scatter parched beans to drive out bad luck and call in good luck. Today, 5 students took charge of a devil (symbol of bad luck) in order, and the other students scattered parched beans to them. This is our culture.

　この日、日本では節分の豆まきが行われます。クラスでは５人の子ども達が鬼役を務めてくれました。日本の文化です。
