「Happy New Year」
１月１日 明けましておめでとうございますだぞ
I wish you a happy New Year!
新年明けましておめでとうございます。
This day last year, I was in ‘Eua with my sister. Oh…time really flies.
去年の今日は妹とエウア島にいました。時間が経つのは早いものですね。
↑Happy New Year! This is the first sunrise of this year. I watched it in front of my house. How beautiful the sunrise is!
あけましておめでとうございます。今年もよろしくお願いします。これは初日の出です。家の前で見ました。きれいですね～。

踏み切り近くの初日の出。
↑It was the New Year’ Day so I went skiing at Kashimayari as usual. Though I’m poor at a long turn, I improved it a little bit. I skied from 8:30 to 15:00 without any rest and lunch.
元旦でした。だから（？）いつも通り鹿島槍へ行きました。ロングターンが下手クソですが、少し上達しました。８時半から１５時まで休憩・昼なしで滑り続けました。

車内の棚は機能しています。
↑Thanks to the shelf, I can use space effectively.
棚のお陰で、空間を有効利用できます。
↑On the way back to my house, I visited Hotaka-jinja shrine. Japanese people go to a shrine. In general, we are allowed to go to any shrine and any time we want, not so strict like Tonga (or we may be able to say that we are very loose about a religion). Yet, the situation may be proper as a developed country’s resident.
帰り道に穂高神社に行きました。トンガと違い日本人は（一般的に）何処の神社に行ってもいいし、いつ行ってもいいし、宗教に対していい加減なものです。でも先進国の人としては、それ位でいいのかも。
↑I got Dai-kichi (the best precept of a written fortune= very good luck!). This near must be very good!
大吉をひきました。今年は良い年になるにちがいありません。
↑I made the first dinner myself. I ate tofu, cabbage, onion salad, sashimi (raw fish of tuna and salmon), nattou (fermented soybeans) and boiled rice.
最初の夕食を作りました。豆腐、キャベツ、玉ねぎサラダ、まぐろと鮭の刺身、納豆とご飯です。
↑My favorite food is “Garlic Rice” Ifo ‘aupito ‘aupito. Very delicious!
好物はニンニクご飯です。うまいんだな～これが！！
