「Chinese Restaurant」

１１月１９日　中華料理店だぞ

It was raining all day long. Around noon, I visited my car dealer to order a snow tire for winter.

  一日中雨が降っていました。カーディーラーへ行き、冬用タイヤの注文をしました。

 

↑Following that, I went to a Chinese restaurant. It was new-built restaurant when I left for Tonga and it’s owned by Chinese people. The menus are very cheap and delicious.

  その後、中華料理店へ行きました。トンガに行く頃、新しく出来たレストランでした。中国人が経営しています。メニューは安くて美味しいです。

 

↑There are a lot of Chinese restaurant in Tonga, but we rarely find Chinese owned restaurant in Japan, so I looked back upon Tongan life.

 Chinese owners make its menu in Japanese language so sometimes we find mistakes. It’s funny.

  トンガにはたくさんの中華料理店がありますが、日本では中国人経営の中華料理店は滅多に目にしません。だからトンガ生活を思い出しました。

　中国人オーナーはメニュー表を日本語で作っています。だからたまに間違いがあって面白いです。「食べでみでください」って・・・なんか重たいなぁ・・・。

 

↑I think, 6 o’clock PM is not a lunch time menu. I remember the interesting sign, which is written in English by Chinese owner, in Vava’u Island.

  あの～午後6時はランチタイムメニューじゃないと思うのですが・・・。ババウで見つけた中国人オーナーが英語で書いた面白い表示を思い出しました。動詞が無いのよね、この文章（笑）。

↑In the evening, I made Chinese noodles with the special seasoning wei pah (I don’t know its spelling…). I did it in Tonga before. It was delicious.

  夜、ラーメンを特製調味料ウェイパー（味覇）で作りました。以前トンガで作りました。美味しかったです。

18th Nov. We took a look.

１１月１８日　下見だぞ

 

↑I went to Nagano city (the prefectural capital) with colleagues to took a look at M-wave, skating rink, before our skate class. When the Nagano Olympic game came, speed skating event was held here. We are supposed to come here and have a skate class next month. More than half of my students have no experience of skating, so I guess it will be a hard event for them.

  同僚の先生達と長野市Mウェーブの下見に行きました。長野オリンピックの時にスピードスケート種目が開かれた場所です。子ども達が来月スケート教室に来ることになっています。半数以上が初めてです。きっと大変だと思われます。

16th Nov. Popular Cat

１１月１６日　人気者（人気ネコ？）だぞ

↑YAMANEKO has already been popular among my students. I’m drawing YAMANEKO when my students submit their homework correctly. They want to draw YAMANEKO on a blackboard when short time breaks.

 I have to make YAMANEKO doll as soon as possible because I have not made it after I came back to Japan.

  山ネコはクラスの中で有名です。子ども達がちゃんと宿題を提出すると山ネコを描きます。彼らは休み時間に山ネコを黒板に描こうとします。

　早く山ネコの人形を作らなければなりませんね。帰国してからまだ作っていません。

１１月１５日　ジョギングと雪山だぞ

 

↑I ‘m running for 5 km distance with my students every day.

  子ども達と毎日５ｋｍ走っています。

 

↑On the way to our jogging, I saw these mountains which are covered with snow. Winter is coming. By the way, I found that I can see my house and my  car from my workplace.

  ジョギングの途中で、雪山を目にしました。冬だ～！！！ところで、職場から家と車が見えるのですね・・・。

13th Nov. Cooking

１１月１３日　料理だぞ

 

↑Since I was making my special Mabo-tofu in Tonga many times, I decided to make it in Japan as well. I have not made any food more than 5 years (since I became a teacher).

  トンガで何回も特製麻婆豆腐を作っていたので、日本でも作ることにしました。5年以上（先生になってから）料理というものをしていませんでした。

 

↑The garlic, which is made in Japan, is very expensive. It costs for 200 yen (US$2.5) so I used only a whole bulb of garlic. I used to add three whole bulbs of garlic in Tonga. I don’t have a rice cooker, but I don’t care about it, because I have an enough skill to make boiled rice with a pan.

  日本のニンニクは高いです。一個200円もしました（青森産）。だからたった丸々一個のニンニクしか使いませんでした。トンガでは丸々３個は入れていたのですが・・・。炊飯器を持っていませんが気にしません。鍋でご飯を炊く十分な能力が身についているので。

 

↑I like this soft drink since I was a child, but I’m too shy to buy it because the package has very cute picture. Today, I managed to buy it.

  子どもの頃からこのジュースが好きでしたが、パッケージが可愛すぎて買うのが恥ずかしいのです。今日は何とか買いました。

13th Nov. I went cycling & jogging.

１１月１３日　サイクリングとジョギングだぞ

 

↑In the afternoon, I went for a bicycle ride along Azusagawa river.

  午後、梓川に沿ってサイクリングに行きました。

 

 

↑After that, I jogged a little. I’m training my body for my ski. I found a lot of autumn sceneries.

  その後、少しジョギングしました。スキーの為に体を鍛えています。たくさんの秋の景色を見ました。

↑Nagano prefecture is famous for a delicious apple. My class 3 students are learning how to grow apples.

  長野県は美味しいリンゴで知られています。3年生の子ども達はどのようにリンゴを育てるか勉強しています。

5th Nov. Jikkaseki Weir

「Jikkaseki Weir」

１１月５日　拾ヶ堰だぞ

 

↑I went for an aggressive walk along the weir called Jikkaseki. The weir was built about 200 years ago for making rice growing and thanks to this weir, Azumino area is able to make good rice. My school students study about this weir often so we can say it’s one of our symbols.

  拾ヶ堰まで攻撃的散歩に出かけました。その堰は稲作を豊かにするために約２００年前に作られました。そのお陰で安曇野では良いお米が出来ます。Torojiro先生の学校の子ども達もしばしばその堰について勉強します。いわばわが町のシンボルみたいなものです。

4th Nov. Magnifying Glass YAMANEKO

１１月４日　虫メガネ山ネコだぞ

 

↑We enjoyed experimentation of science. A magnifying glass collects sunlight and the collected sunlight burns paper.

  理科の実験を楽しみました。虫メガネは日光を集めることができます。そして、集まった光で紙が焼けます。

 

↑I enjoyed making YAMANEKO with my magnifying glass. My students were pleased. YAMANEKO is already famous in my class.

  Torojiro先生は山ネコ作りを楽しみました。子ども達は喜びました。山ネコは既に教室の中で有名です。

3rd Nov. Stubborn man’s ski shop

１１月３日　がんこ親父のスキー店だぞ

 

↑I went to Matsumoto city to eat “Torikara Teisyoku”(deep-fried chicken set meal) at my favorite restaurant. The menu used to be 500 yen 13 years ago, but now it costs 600 yen. Oh…man! Yet it can’t be helped, time has changed and every price is getting higher in Japan.

  松本の馴染みの定食屋へ鳥唐定食を食べに行きました。鳥唐は１３年前は５００円でしたが、今は６００円します。なんてこった～。でも時代は流れますし全ての物価は上がっているので仕方ありませんね。

 

 

↑I went for a job along Susuki-gawa river. Susuki-gawa was well-known as the place of the movie “Hakusen nagashi”. This attractive movie was one of the reasons why I came to Nagano from Osaka.

  薄川に沿ってジョギングをしました。薄川はドラマ「白線流し」の舞台（最終回に白線を流した所）として知られています。この魅力的なドラマはTorojiro先生が大阪から長野にやってきた理由の１つです。

 

↑Following that, I visited my favorite ski shop, which is owned by stubborn man, in Matsumoto. I have visited here more than 10 years. Today I needed to get my new ski pole, because I used my old one for a long time and its tip is not sharp so it doesn’t work well.

 At this shop, normally he is selling new model materials at 30 percent off, and is selling outdated materials (last year’s model) at 50 percent off. If there is material, which is older than last year’s model, it becomes much cheaper than 50 percent discount.

 I always buy my materials for less than half price. I don’t care whether it’s new model or not, the most important thing is our ski skill.

  その後、松本にある、がんこ親父のスキー店に行きました。もう１０年以上通っています。今日はスキーのストックを買う必用がありました。もう長く使っていたので、先っぽが丸くなっていて、アイスバーンに刺さりません。

　このお店で、親父さんは新品を３０％オフで売ります。そして去年モデルは５０％オフになります。去年以上に古いものは、さらに安くなります。

　Torojiro先生はいつも半額以下で買います。型が古いだけで新品ですからね。モデルが新しいかどうかは問題ではありません。一番大切なのはその人のスキー技術です。

 

 

↑Today, I bought the nice pole only for 9,000 yen (US$100). It has an adjustment function. When I go on bumps, I can make it shorter.

 I’m satisfied with my shopping today. I bought a very cheap and good function material. In addition, it’s produced by Ogasaka Ski Company. I am a believer of Ogasaka because the company is in Nagano.

The only one thing I left is training my body for my ski.

  今日はスキーの良いストックをたった９０００円で買いました。調整機能がついています。コブ斜面に行く時は短くできます。

　今日の買物に満足です。めちゃくちゃ安くて、良い機能がついていて、オガサカの商品が買えたからです。Torojiro先生はオガサカ信者です。オガサカは長野県の会社だからです。

あとは自分の体を鍛えるのみです。
